Argentina Pigeon Hunting

After our agricultural harvests, we hunt the Pigeons over decoys. When you arrive at the field ,the decoys are already spread and the blinds built. The Argentine Pigeons decoy very well and at our location, you can experience pigeon hunting with the excitement of dove hunting as well!!  If you have never hunted decoying pigeons, this is a “Must Hunt” for any traveling wing shooter.

Each Pigeon hunter is assigned an efficient bird boy, that will replace the cartridges and recover the game, and will offer him a refreshing aperitif when desired. All of our bird boys are constantly trained in first aid and know how to act in case of accident.

In the field, each hunter will have an outdoor chair, a cooler with beverages and a thermos with coffee for an exact balance between nature and comfort.

Once back to the Lodge, after an exciting hunting day, one can enjoy a relaxing moment in the 50' swimming pool, surrounded by friends and savoring an exquisite cocktail. The climate of the region is warm with plenty of sun and almost no rain.

As Yacanto is a mountainous region, non-hunting companions can enjoy of activities such as horse riding, trekking, visit olive groves, famous artisans, farmhouses of jams and flower essences, and live in a unique place, where the passing of time seems to have stopped.

Staying at Yacanto Lodge

Our hunters are lodged in a comfortable country style house, built by British railroad engineers in 1900 and recently refurbished to a comfortable house for up to 12 people in 6 double rooms with private bathroom each one.

The Lodge also features a large living room, bar, a dinning room and a relaxing gallery with a view of the mountains and of an old garden grove. Only a few meters away from the Lodge one can find the well-known golf court of the Yacanto Hotel, where you may also play tennis.

There are no problem if  hunters want to bring their spouses or family to Yacanto Lodge. This mountain place is ideal to enjoy relax and several activities as trekking and horse ridding. The area has plenty of artisans so they can buy handicrafts made of plate, wood, wool and beautiful local stones. There are olive plantations, aromatics and very good restaurants in the neighborhood.

Meals at Yacanto Lodge

A Professional chef prepares the evening meals with a mix of Argentina’s traditional food and international cuisine, including Pigeon and Doves specialties.

Breakfast will consist of eggs, fresh orange juice, coffee, milk, toast, different jams and butter.

At midday you will taste the famous “Argentine barbecue” near the hunting field. Our sommelier offers the finest combination of Argentine wines so our hunters can enjoy the different wine flavors.
