Serving a maximum of twelve guests at a time, the new lodge ensures that hunters can enjoy the privacy and beauty of their surroundings. Pintail now controls thousands of acres surrounding the lodge, ensuring less outside pressure on the ducks and more activity for hunters. Pintail Lodge is located in the prime central region of the Laguna Madre's duck environment, Pintail Lodge affords you the opportunity to hunt different species of duck in widely varied terrain. On any given day, you may drive out to one of the numerous freshwater potholes surrounding Pintail, or walk the few steps down to the lodge's airboat dock for a trip out onto the saltwater expanse of the Laguna. Once in the blinds, you'll see a mixed bag of teal (cinnamon, bluewing, greenwing), redheads, bluebills, widgeon and, of course, the signature pintail.

Best of all, since all hunting areas are close to the lodge, you'll spend less time traveling and more time pursuing your passion.

Species to Hunt

At Pintail Lodge, you'll find their namesake Pintail as well as Redheads, Widgeon, Cinnamon Teal, Bluewing Teal, Greewing Teal, Bluebill, Gadwall, Shoveler and Widgeon. Other species hunted include Snow Goose, Speckled Bellies, Quail, and Dove.

A Typical Day

At Pintail Lodge you are awakened bright and early. After your made-to-order breakfast, you're off to hunt at first light, when the waves of ducks start filtering in. Typically at the end of your morning hunt you will return to the lodge for lunch and a siesta before heading out to your afternoon hunt. Upon return from the hunt you will be greeted with hors d'oeuvres and margaritas. You can enjoy these on the deck by the fire reminiscing about the splendors of your day and your hunts. Dinner is generally served around 8:00 pm, with an evening at your leisure.

Season Dates
Pintail's duck hunting season running from November through mid-February provides the perfect winter getaway for the avid wing shooting sportsman  or waterfowler.
