Our specialized approach to bear hunting enables Larson Lake Outfitters to consistently harvest trophy bears in our vast hunting territory. In addition, our territory contains a very high multiple color phase bear population including black, cinnamon, chocolate, and blond bears. black bear hunting in saskatchewan, canadaSTYLE OF HUNTING: All of our Saskatchewan Bear hunting is done over bait in tree stands. The average archery shots will range from 15 to 25 yards. Average rifle or muzzle loader shots will range from 45 to 80 yards. Hunts start at around 2PM in the afternoon. You will be taken to your stand via 4-wheelers. The guide will wait till you get situated in your stand before he leaves. You will check in via radio at pre-set times during the evening. Once you harvest a bear, the guide will come pick you and the bear up. Bring plenty of film and batteries for your camera. This will be the hunt of a lifetime. Buddy stands are available if you have someone along to video tape your hunt. Remember though, two hunters make twice as much noise and twice as much sent.

Fly into the Saskatoon International Airport, where we will make arrangements to meet you and transport you to the lodge, or you if prefer to drive to our facility on your own, car rentals are available at the Saskatoon airport. Driving maps available upon request.

WHAT TO BRING - PERSONAL ITEMS:
Bring casual camp dress for your non-hunting hours, as well as your personal toiletries. That's really all you'll need. bear hunting in saskatchewan


BEAR HUNTING CLOTHING:
For archery and muzzle loading hunters, camouflage is suggested. Rifle hunters must wear a complete suite of either scarlet, white yellow or orange or a combination of these colors by Saskatchewan law. We suggest a full white suit with a red cap. Warm weather gear and rain gear could be needed in both spring and fall hunts. Canadian weather is very unpredictable.

SASKATCHEWAN BEAR HUNTING EQUIPMENT:
Hunters may bring bows or rifles or both, as Larson Lake Outfitters accommodates both styles of hunting perfectly. It is best to bring your own ammunition and general hunting tackle with you, but if necessary, ammo can be purchased at the lodge.

A Saskatchewan Bear Hunting License will run US$165 plus the habitat stamp of $11 and is not included in the price. Larson Lake outfitters will provide all of the required documentation and export papers for your game.

DURATION OF HUNT:
All Saskatchewan bear hunts are five days and six nights. You arrive Sunday at noon or later and depart the following Saturday morning. Additional hunting days can be purchased subject to availability.

GUIDES: The Larson Lake guides are Blaine, Troy, Mitch and Dean. All of our guides are experienced lifetime hunters and are extremely knowledgeable and able to help you with any questions or concerns. You will be in very good hands as our guides treat the hunter as Number 1!

saskatchewan bear hunting brown color phaseNON-RESIDENT FIREARM IMPORT DECLARATION: All non-Canadian residents entering Canada with a firearm will be required to complete a mandatory Non-Resident Firearm Declaration. This form must be presented when clearing Canada Customs upon entry with a registration fee of $50 paid in Canadian currency. Larson Lake Outfitters will mail you the necessary forms upon request, or they may be downloaded from the Canadian Firearms Centre website by clicking here or by calling them at 1-800-731-4000.

Handguns are strictly prohibited and may not be imported into Canada.

TROPHY PROCESSING AND TAXIDERMY:
Inclusive in the hunt package with Larson Lake Outfitters is skull and hide preparation for shipping trophies home with the hunter. However, local taxidermy and subsequent shipping of trophies can also be arranged at the hunter's expense.




Saskatchewan Bear Hunt Season

The Spring Saskatchewan Bear Hunting Season starts the second week of May and runs through the second week in June.

The Fall Saskatchewan Bear Hunting Season starts August 25 and runs thru September 9th.

Spring & Fall 2009 Saskatchewan 5-Day Bear Hunt

All Saskatchewan spring and fall bear hunts are five days long (Monday - Friday). Fee is $3000 plus license ($165) and conservation stamp ($11) . Additional hunting days can be purchased subject to availability. Fall hunts limited to just 10 bear hunters.

A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking. The Balance is due 90 days prior to your hunt date. All deposits, balances and trophy fees are in U.S. dollars.
